95 240sx stock car alarm woes

I live in Hawaii and if you guys haven't heard about it on the news we have been having on and off rains for over 40 days. The day before and today were the first back to back sunny days. About 3 weeks ago I had to drive through water that was deep enough to half submerge my apexi n1 and for about a week and a half now my car alarm seems to have developed a mind of it's own. It likes to go off at random times when I totally lock up the car. It's even more annoying because I don't have the remote for the alarm causing me to walk out to my car and physically turn the driver side keyhole. Does anybody know what the problem could be? I know that there could possibly be a short but where would I start?Any help would be greatly appreciated.
