Ok I bought my 240 like 5 months ago. Ever since it kinda starts weird. Slow to start...clicks sometimes, wont turn on 1st attempt. So I thought batt alternator starter. Replaced the battery, and alternator and starter checked out. Same problem. My ac goes out on an occasion due to tampered wiring. Well now it wont start at all with out a jump. Jump it off and it runs fine. Shut it off and try to start it all my dash lights come on and EVERYTHING goes dead, dome light everything. I think it's a short somewhere but im not sure where to start. Or who to take it to or how much it should cost me... any help would be appreciated

thanks

Sounds like it could easily be a bad ground, possibly caused by a battery ground cable being shot. That's where I'd start. If it's a short of that magnitude it would be blowing fuses/fusable links left and right.

Well would hurt to check the condensor/resistor and ignition coil/cable

usually these 2 are wired together infront of the valve cover... MINE WERE MELTED... So i would check... You can take these 2 off, condensor and resistor and the car still runs...

Might want to take the dashboard apart behind the ignition switch (thingy that turns ur car on) and see if theirs just a loose wire

My RPM gauge was not working well, and i fixed my iginition coil wire, hasn't gone out since...

The ignition coil is inside the distributor.... Check your spark plugs to..

Just a few other things to check.... Imports are funny with all their damn sensors

Well now that was easy... I went to autozone they said to go to a service center they said to go to a wireing specialist. So as I was jumping off my car defeated I was looking a round checking everything again. Pulled on my negitive terminal and it came right off...damn it man. Do I feel stupid. Should have been the 1st thing I did. Potential disaster solved by a 2 dollar terminal conneter at Autozone. And all is right with the world again :D

Thanks for the welcome.
