Someone please help me. I've got a S14 SR20DET with alot of upgrades on it. I've only boosted 10lbs, and I just put over 1000miles on the swap. I had a shop do the work, and it should have been done right. They put the rocker arm stoppers on and a metal headgasket. Now the problem that I'm having is my #2 cyliner isn't combusting. I'm getting spark, and I'm running so rich that I'm spitting fuel out of the exhaust. I've checked the spark plugs and that's not the problem. It's only on #2 cylinder that I'm having this problem. There isn't any black smoke coming out of the exhaust, and for some unknown reason the car is idleing just under 4K rpms. I'm by no means the most mechanically inclined individual, and I've heard alot of different possibilities. I've got the AEM EMS stand alone engine management system, so I don't think that it'll be the computer. I've heard that it could be the CAS, but some people are saying that there is just no way. I'm looking for a SR20DET knowledgeable individual that wouldn't mind helping me out. I'm hearing that it could be my #2 cylinder ring. I'm going to be doing a compression test on the engine tonight to see if the compression is still good. Someone please help me out here. I really miss the feeling of boost! I'm like a boost junkie now and I'm going through withdraws. Thanks in advance.

I did the compression test last night, and the results were this: #1 170, #2 70, #3 170, #4 168. Obviously #2 is screwed up. I popped the oil cap off and started her up. I could feel air pulsating out of the head. I'm still lost though.

redo your compression test following the procedure I posted in the sticky at the top of this forum. Follow it to the letter dont skip any of the steps. Then post back your numbers. It may be rings as you suspect but it could be cyl wash causeing the low numbers.

Also this will have no relation to you have a 4k idle. Something else is wrong causeing that. Could be a air leak in you intercooler or its piping, usually though you wont get that high of an idle with a leak, but if your tps is not set right and its contacts are open in combination with the air leak you could sustain a high idle like that.

I took it to a Nissan mechanic that looked at it for me. As soon as we took the valve cover off it was pretty clear what the problem was. I broke the exhaust rocker arm for #2 cylinder in half, and I broke the intake rocker arm for #2 cylinder into a couple of pieces. I've been looking, but I can't seem to find any aftermarket rocker arms. Does anyone know of any companies that make upgraded rocker arms? Thanks again.
