95 240sx rear thumping
Ok, whenever I shift gears there is a very loud thump in the rear as if the whole rearend is going to fall off. Also, if i'm going at a very slow speed like 5 mph or so and just barely pull the parking break it will make the same noise. anyone have any ideas of what could be going on? Thanks!
I'm not too familiar with those kind of things but it sounds like what the obvious thing may be is that its not engaging correctlyand not quite locking strait so when you do let off the clutch of E-brake it slips into gear making that thud.
What probably needs to be done is to take apart the transmission case and make sure the gears and bearing are strait and in place. That or your throw out bearing may be gone. So take it in to Nissan and have it looked at. Good luck.

A few months ago, I heard a loud thumping noise coming for the rear of my car followed by some faint voices. It freaked me out a couple of times so I didn't dare to investigate what the problem could be. After a few weeks passed, the thumping noise ceased, but I began noticing a strange decay odor. The smell bothered me enough so one day I opened my trunk. Inside I found a family of Mexican farm immigrants. They must've hid inside the trunk of my car while I was partying my a$$ off in Tijuana. Anyways, you should check your trunk for illegal immigrants.
