AEM has the EMS listed as 30-1610 and 30-1611 (OBDI and OBDII respectivly) They list the 95 as coming both ways. What they dont tell you is how to tell what you have.

Is there a definative way to determine if a 95 is OBDI or OBDII?

Im not too sure on this but if you have one of those OBDII scan tools, you can first see if there is a plug for it in your car and if there is... see if the OBDII code scanner works. But IIRC, I vaguley remember hearing about how some OBDIs had that plug but wasnt really an OBDII.....

I have also heard that the intake manifold is different but not quite sure about the specifics...

Im sure more people will chime in

look in your driver side door and find out what month of what year your car was made.

Every S14 I have ever seen has had both OBD diag ports. I have tried to link my Snap On scan tool to my car and other 95s but never got a reading. I dont know if its because I had settings wrong on the scan tool or if there really is no info availble thru that port.

I have seen several 97 98s and those have a second wire harness on the intake manifold. I have never seen a 95 with a second wire harness

my car was made in 94 and it has both diagnostic ports as well but the one under center dash doesnt work. the only one is the harness near fuse box.

i would say a way to tell would be by the intake manifold (all the extra solenoids and controls that goes along with obd2) or by the ecu code.

send me pics of your engine bay.http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/ECU-ID.PDF

sorry, NX95240 and i posted at the same time. lol

So an A11 ECU is OBDI and a A18 ECU is OBDII by JWT's chart. Just to keep people from having to look. By the way, those are the first 3 of the alpha/numeric code.

Mine doorjam says liek 10/94 and my car is an OBD-II. The port under the dash and the nissan port both work. Under the hood though every car states whether it is an OBD-II model or not so the emissons peeps know whats up. So is the EMS out for the S14 already?

Pins 66 67 69 and 105 are only used on OBD2 cars... I'm not sure if the OBD1 95 even has a wire in the connector. I meant to check last night on my 95. I will do this when I get home and post my findings... My car was made in mid 94 so I am an almost sure I'm OBD1
