Use combustion gas tester to check head gasket.

Make sure you got all of the air bubbles out. I thought i did when i did my t-stat and it still kept overheating. I changed my water pump with a new one but my old one still looked good. It turned out I didn't bleed the system properly.

Make sure your replacement thermostat is OEM, not some aftermarket piece of crap like a Stant.

The radiator may be plugged up so flushing is useless.

Double check your fan belt routing. If you're turning your water pump backwards, then you're going to overheat.

Also, are you using the bleeder screw to bleed the system of air?
