95 240sx front end sensor ?

There is a sensor that connects to the hood latch mounting bracket about half way down, in front of the radiator. Can anyone tell me two things?

1. What it is.

2. There are two wires that connect to the sensor and one that has a single connector on it, do you know where that single wire is supposed to plug in?
