Read title! I know you can adjust the clutch pedal and stuff but I don't know how. What do you think I need to do about this? Oh, and when the clutch gets pretty warm from me driving it for a while, it sometimes seems like it doesn't even want to grab, but it always does.

The only adjustment is at the pedal and this is done with the clutch pedal up and the clevis pin that goes through the pedal from the master cyl. rod has to spin freely. To adjust this you loosen the 12mm nut on the master cyl. rod and turn the rod in or out to get the pin to spin freely in the pedal. If after this and you still have a problem then chances are the clutch is about to go.

I didn't install it. A Nissan mastertech did. I have been talking to some people and we think it is probably one of my cylinder; slave or clutch master. My slave is brand new, and the clutch master was working perfectly when it was taken out of the s14 I got it from (it was my friends). So I dunno what it up.

I wasn't trying to say it was in correctly just because a nissan mastertech did it, but it might change some people's opinions if they new an experienced professional did it. But hey, yes, even the best make mistakes. The car isn't running right now anyway, and I am going to change my transmission hopefully soon anyway with one that has been rebuilt. I'll have them look at it then. No i'm not afraid to confront anyone, I have already confronted him about something else. But, when the car gets back on the road I will be more concerned with it.

was the clutch pedal adjusted when the clutch was replaced?

its normal for the new clutch to feel and engage differently, just needs to be adjusted... take note as well that ALL 240sx clutches engage near the top. dont think you can make it fully engage in the middle :pface

To adjust your brand spankin new high performance elite clutch:

grab a 12mm (or 10mm... i forget) combination wrench, and pliers.

get on your back under the dash on the drivers side, look up at the top of the clutch pedal. there will be a rod coming from the master cylinder that attaches to the pedal. now losen the nut alittle that keeps the rod from spinning. take the pliers and turn the rod to adjust, theres a small groved section on the rod that helps the pliers grip easier.

just turn the rod so it moves out alittle bit, then tighten the nut and take it for a test drive. its all trial and error from here, Im sure you will get it right :)

there is also a second nut to adjust that is next to the clutch pedal and this determines how far teh pedal goes before stopping when depressed. this can be played with also.

have fun :D

i hate to bring up a dead thread but have been having a problem on my clutch pedal where it waits until my pedal is almost all the way released before the clutch will grab, i have just lately replaced the clutch and master and slave cylinder. the new clutch slips every now and then but it is a result of the clutch grabbing when the pedal hits the the stop. on most other sticks i have had the pedal should grab shortly after you release a fully depressed pedal not when it is nearly fully extended, i am talking i have about a 3/4-1" before my pedal is fully extended, then thats when my clutch will grab.my adjustment links are adjusted all the way out.it feels like clutch is half way engaging.i have bled the clutch. any ideas?
