My 1995 240SX SE had gotten broken into last night in my company's parking lot. I was at work at the time. It happened between 4:30pm and 8:00pm. The parking lot is decently lit. And we have security guards and video cameras.
But none of those factors stopped someone from breaking into two cars last night in the parking lot. They took my radio, cell phone an CD's. They literally tore apart my center console to get the CD player out of the car though. I'm not sure what the actual cost of repair will be, but the items alone add up to around $400.
My deductible on my insurance is $500. And I have full coverage.
I'm trying to figure out if it would be worth it to file a claim with my insurance or not basically. Here are the items that are broken or missing:
Top piece of the center console..the one with the vents, hazzard switch & rear defroster switch
Hazzard switch
Rear Defroster switch
Lower plastic molding where the stereo was
Tray from underneth the stereo
Plastic molding from around the shifter (auto)
Clock no longer working
Blinkers no longer working
Lots of air comming from window seal
If anyone can give me some sort of idea I would appreciate it. I tried to put everything back together for now as best as I could, but a lot of the stuff isn't sitting in just right anymore. There are some minor scratches on the hand break and mirror switch/adjuster area. As well as on the door.
The dealer can't give me any prices without seeing it first, but conveniently, they aren't open on Saturday! Argh!
Thanks a lot!
