Oh so i have just now goten into cars. I went out and got me 95 240sx se. It has already has race headers and a 3" exoust on it, and not much else on it. Im kinda short on cash an was wanting to know some small thing that i can do to my car to make it faster. Nothing over 100 for each thing. but that is about the most i can fork out at one time.Once i get most of the small thing ill save for larger upgrades. The only thing i know i wont do it turbo or supercharge it. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to NICO man.

Well first off if you really dont wanna spend much money, you could reduce the weight of the car. Take out the spare tire, A/C if you want, and you could even go as far as stipping the interior. Threre are many more options, just cant think of anymore off the top of my head. Wait till more experienced members see your thread, they should be able to tell you much more. Another cheaper type mod is some pullys, and maybe a new air filter. Although there arent many mods that can be had for under $100. Put up some pics also. Hope this helps you out!

SPL subframe spacers can be had for less than 100 bucks. Also check the classifieds section for used parts. if you're not looking to mod heavily, you'd be amazed at what a good set of tires will do.

Under $100 (each):

-Ebay Strut Bars (so cheap they're nearly free)-Wide (300mm) rearview mirror (makes a real dif when driving)-HKS Drop-In Air Filter-Upgraded Brake Pads (big difference!)-Upgrade Fluids in car (Redline engine & gear oil, Motul brake fluid)-Z32 Fuel Fulter (dunno if this even does anything, lol)-Paint Valve Cover, Wheels & Brake Calipers-Shift Knob (I like really lightweight shiftknobs, real dif IMO)-Radiator Cooling Panel (I consider this aesthetic)-Aftermarket Pedals, if you find they help you heel-toe-Aftermarket floor mats, if your old ones suck-On a dark car, paint badging black, on light car, remove badging entirely.-Pulleys (maybe) -JDM Zenki Grille-Ebrake Drift Button-Plug Wires-Ricey stuff like Radiator caps, gas caps, oil caps, etc... looks cool.-Change dome light bulb color, or gauge light blub colors.-Side Markers (if you feel like changing them, I prefer amber)-Hose Kits-Subframe Spacers-Used steering wheels on ebay-Camber Plates

Free:

-Advance your timing (run 93 octane)-Remove intake resonator thingy-whatever. Search for the writeup.-Remove stuff (seat, spare, sound deadening, whatever)-CLEAN your car. Dirty cars suck. Engine Bay, outside, inside, no clutter, etc.-Relocate license plate somewhere (dorky, I know, but I did it, and I like it).

Like the people above said also, used parts rule. Check the boards (all of them) every day for choice stuff going at a big discount. Personally, I've been looking for a nice used oil cooler.

NUMBER ONE THING:

Basic Preventative Maintenance: Give your car a VERY thorough going-over. Every fluid, every tiny part, everything, check EVERYTHING. Make it perfect, then you can mod with confidence. Do this first.

Some say Seafoam works wonders. There are many write-ups on how to use it. Just search it. Oh yeah, I'm originally from Gadsden. Its nice to see someone else from northern AL.

teh whole advancing your timing and putting in better gas is not that good of an idea. it works but at the same time, detonation is not something i like fooling with

If you now just have gotten into cars I would leave it alone for a while. Save a little then decide what you want to do. Also I can say enough on Preventative Maintenance.

Ok sence i have the small things down what other things can be done like cams. Where could i find some good ones? The only thing i dont realy want is a turbo or supercharger. I just dont realy care for them yet. I know they cant give you lots of power. I plan on drag racing it on the weekends and it being a daily driver diring the week. HEy and thanks for the info.

I totally agree. I had my car for 2 years and then finially decided to drop a c-note and get a turbo kit and stuff... I am glad I waited.
