Ok, maybe someone on here can help me ever since I turbo charged my 240 and did the exhaust(no cat) as well as removing the entire egr system i've come up with to codes on the ecu.

One being a code 33 which is the O2 sensor the other being obvious which is a 32 or EGR system failure.

Now the questions are one do the single wire O2 sensors through a code based on a rich and lean condition like a heated o2 sensor(usually secondaries will do it with cat removal) or does it really mean the sensor is bad? The second question is for the egr code, how exactly is the ecu telling that the egr system isn't there if the solenoid is still connected? and is there anyway to fool the computer into thinking it is still there? or should I just go through and put it back?

The O2 code is generated when it does not see a fluctuation from rich to lean. The Egr code is generated when it does not see a temp increase from the egr temp sensor mounted in the egr passage of the intake manifold. there is no simple way to fool the computer when it comes to this.

Alright, guess I'll have to sit down and think for a bit then. I'm just glad someone could point me in the right direction with the egr code. Thanks for the prompt reply.

I used to get an EGR code on my 98 240 all the time when I put in my turbo and bypassed it. Since I installed my E-Manage on it, the code stopped appearing. Seemed an easy but inadvertant fix. I'm guessing the ECU is looking for the rise in temp in the EGR system under certain conditions. Since the E-Manage is fooling the ECU into thinking I am getting less air then it actually is(for larger injectors) it is probably not looking for an EGR signal. That's my guess at this point.

I replaced the O2 sensor and it seems to have gotten rid of both of the codes. One thing i've found was strange is the primary o2 sensor is a single wire and the secondary is a 3 wire, I guess i understand the rear doesn't heat up as quickly but hell why not just make both heated then. anyway thanks for the help.
