Well its easier to ask than pull a wheel and measure. What is the stock wheel stud length. I see 50 and 60 for after market but can't find the stock length.

ThxP

I bought my son a 95 240SX SE and someone has converted the front to 300Z brakes. All 4 wheels (5-lug) have spacers between the wheels and disc mounting surface. In my opinion, it appears that the studs are way too short as the studs only go into the lugs about 1/2 inch at best!

If they are too short (and I don't see how they can't be for safety reasons), what is the proper length they should be and who manufactures a kit? Do I just go to Auto Zone and tell them what I need? Today he brought it home and the left front lugs had loosened up and 1 stud was broke off.

I spent my high school years driving a big-block 67 Chevelle and a 66 GTO so I know my way around a tool box... I love going fast but I'm all about safety.

Well if your still reading this, for maximum strength a fastener should be threaded 1 1/2 times the fasteners diameter. Hence a 12 mm stud (1/2) should thread together 3/4". Of course there are other factors such as material (grade) and thread pitch. Rule of thumb is 1 1/2 times. I personaly use a minumum of 8 full turns of thread engaugement for a lug stud to be safe.

Is that an ARMY emblem I see as your icon? I'm formerly of the 2nd Marine Air wing, Mals-12, Iwakuni Japan.
