feels like they dont grip to the max. It has new brake pads but im thinking its the rotors. I would change to aftermarket but i heard that aftermarket waste faster than stock. Does anyone know what i should do and if stock last longer than aftermarket?

Oem pads must meet Federal standards for cold and hot stopping distances. Aftermarkets replacements have no standards and are not tested.

In general the dustier and faster wearing the better they stop in normal 0F-500F conditions.

Most aftermarket performance pads SHIFT the temp curve UPWARD at the expense of poor cold and first stop of the day performance! No free lunch you cannot have both.

A identical brake pad film must be transfer to the rotor for brakes to work properly [cast iron is slick without the pad film and stops poorly until the transfer].

Always retrue rotors to remove old pad film if you change brands of pads!

Assuming you did not turn the rotors upon install of the new pads, like Q45 said, i would try turning them.

hmm...well see thats what im not sure about and that is what im trying to figure out. Ive searched already and i only found brakes for sale and that the brakes get stuck or one brake doesnt work but no word on the grip of the breaks so this will be new to the search engine here. Any other opinions? thanks alot for your opinions guys, really appreciate it.

As posted above, you should definately have your rotors machined(if within thickness specs). When you installed the new pads, did you bleed the brakes? Air acts like a spring while being compressed, and will leave a very soft spongy pedal feel. Most of my buddies just push the piston in, load the pads, and bolt it up, but don't take the 5 min to bleed . I personally like to rebuild the calipers too(so I have to bleed anyway), because it's a cheap, quick, and easy way to keep your brakes in good shape.
