I see the security light come on when I start the car. But what exactly is it supposed to do, and how do you use it????

First step is to secure [buy] and read and study the factory service manual all your questions and request for theory of operation will be answered!

Because of the body control modules [memory] whenever you disconnect battery [from your other post] you have reset proceedures that must be followed.

Alarm: All locks [4] have key switches and door open switches plus the usual hood open switch.............if the alarm is not setting the alarm light [led] won't blink.

We like to help solve problems after the dealer or the service manual proceedures have been exhausted.

Body control module [seat/steering position function] reset can be found via our search engine.
