Is it just me, or is there less room between the radiator and AC condensor in the 94/95/96 series than in the earlier series?

I always felt that the space to put the transmission cooler is the same on 94-96's as on 90-93, ie between rad and AC condensor.

I would like to hear from members with second gen Q's (94-96) which exact model# B&M or Hayden cooler they installed as transmission coolers. And also the locations you put them, still as usual?Did the dual heat exchanger set-up present any problems w/ install?

Fred...:)

Dennis - Putting it between the two makes little sense. For a 94-96, putting it in front of the radiator (the 11x7 model) makes for a clean install. Plenty of room, plenty of airflow (yay grille!), and it doesn't obstruct much.

Besides, in a hotter climate, who wants the transmission cooler sandwiched between two heat-generating mechanisms?

I put a 11 X 6 cooler on the LH side of the condenser. Don't remember the brand but it sensed fluid temp and changed flow to suit. The hoses face outboard. The stock ATF filter is removed and replaced with a dual parallel filter block using two oil filters, the same as found on a ford 460 engine. The filter block is located in front of the LH wheel under the headlight. I retained the "cooler" in the radiator because it also helps to warm up the transmission fluid.

i put the b&m 70264 in front of both, towards the drivers side of rad/condensor. i installed it so all the fluid would go through the heat-ex and then the cooler so i needed some T-fittings.

The air coming out of the condenser is only 30-35F warmer than ambient when the AC is on.........130-140F air will still cool 200F ATF more than 176-220F radiator coolant!

I just put mine on the front of the condensor. My AC still cools fine even on 100F+ days.
