Hey I recently acquired 2 94 TCU's I plugged both of them into my 91 and the in dash display gave me a transmission malfunction. I thought this was a simple plug and play. Is there anything I am doing wrong please help. I am 17 have done all the work with occasional advise from my dad.

Thanks Joey

Go through the diagnotic to see why the Transmission Malfunction error came up. I would link you to the diagnotic process pictrure but its gone as far as I know (Upgrade). So in that case see the service manual.

Joey - Welcome to NICO! You've got a beautiful Q there for sure.

I have a 91 that is running a 94 TCU. Also, I installed 94 TCU in a 90 model for a friend. Just trying to remember how I went about the installation, I think I might have disconnected the battery during installation. So the cars would have been disconnected from the battery for at least 30 minutes while I made the swaps.

I'm sure other members will recall any specific issues with a TCU swap.

Should be plug-n-play. I also disconnect the battery during any ECU or TCU swap, and have never seen that problem... might be worth trying.

Good luck!
