Helping best friend work on on 94 Sentra. His daughters college car. Car only has 69K miles. Wont start. Battery is good, and charged. Connections are good. I pulled the air cleaner to check the ground wire and all is tight and not corroded.
Car had a start issue prior, would only start in neutral. Prior to that had to wiggle the shifter (is an auto) to get it to start. I pulled the neutral safety switch from the front of the transmission. Jumped the two prongs for the backup lights and they seem fine. Jumped the other two to see if I could "bypass" the switch and still nothing. I ohmed (rang) the male prongs on the switch and reverse lights seem good. Also seems that park and neutral should be good. Spent most of the day checking connections and no change. Dash does dim when you hit the key, but lights dont seem to.
If I have to pull the starter.... any suggestion on getting that thing out? Looks like it will be a PITA.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Brad
