94 Sentra emergency brake light stays on...

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

I just bought a pristine 94 Sentra with only 55,000 miles. The ONLY problem I have been able to find is that the emergency brake light won't turn off when I disengage the brake. The brake itself seems to be working fine; when engaged the car doesn't move, when disengaged the car rolls freely (I can easily roll the car with just muscle power). Anybody know where the switch is located? Or any other possible cause?

A secondary question: Any reccomendation (or necessity) for drive\timing chain replacement at any particular milage?

One more question: I am in Brazil- is it safe to assume that the odometer has been calibrated to kilometers for the Brazilian market?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Im thinking that the E brake adjustment may be a hair too tight- trying to get to the adjustment nut under the console to check, and I have the console loose, but it seems to be trapped under the seat belt assemblies on the inside of the driver and passenger seats. Anybody know how to get the the damn thing off? Thanks in advance.

You need to slide both seats forward as far as they will go and that should make the extra screws easy to access and don't forget that you need to unscrew and pull the outer plastic of your center dash.
