I have a 94 S14 Silvia here in Japan. I've searched and didn't see anything that really geared towards my issue. This is what I've done so far...

-Rebuilt my rear calipers with new pistons and a seal kit (they were in bad shape).

-Previous owner said he replaced the cable 3 times and still drags the the left rear.

-Right rear works fine all the time and left rear doesn't drag with it disconnected.

-Have adjusted the 10mm adjustment nut/bolt on the ebrake itself with no luck.

I do all my own maintenance, but this is kicking my @ss. So any assistance/ideas, please pass them on before I take my car in to be inspected by a certified mechanic.

Thanks!

Well the E-brake runs off a cable actuated cam, so maybe its all bound up inside the caliper somewhere? I would suggest just replacing that entire caliper... you might have missed something when you rebuilt it.

I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the caliper. I'm going to throw it up on a lift today so I can get a good look at the cables. The cable seems like its too tight with the e-brake handle down. It's pulling on the hook (on the caliper) with tension released...thus causing it to drag. Hopefully I will figure it out when I get it up on the lift.

Ah, so it should just be a tension adjustment? Kinda weird how its only happening on one side. Be sure to take pics and post what you discover.

there are tension cables under your center console direct to the ebrake if you barely pull on your ebrake and it already has tension before it clicks its too tight if thats not it did you replace or regrease your caliper slides? other wise check the brake line for a kink?
