My 240SX is turning over very slowly and always has (only had the car 9mo) or so. The car has been in winter sotrage and I tryed to start it a few weeks ago and all it would do is click. I pulled the starter tore it down cleaned out a lot of crap inspected the brushes reassembled and had the starter checked at murry's and it checked out fine. I also cleaned both positive and ground cables off the batttery and reattached with dielectric grease.

I am trying to start with a red top battery with a battery charger in parallel and it turns over very slowly (too slow to start).

My next plan is to check for voltatge drop at the battery and then at the starter with a DVM to see if my cables are bad interally some where. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for reading my post.

I tried a second battery durring this event and had a battery charger in start mode while I was cranking. Its possible I got really unlucky but I threw a battery away on that car because I thought it was bad.

I think the next step is to check with a DVM at the battery and starter while cranking. I was just hoping someone else has had this problem. I had a hardbody pickup with a KA and know how easy it should turn over so something is just not right.

Starter is 173 smakers too thats big money.
