hi everyone, love the site, been very helpful

I just got a 94 q45. west coast car. 69k miles. only thing wrong with it was the engine shook real bad and worse on acceleration. The guy had a printout from AAA that said the 2 and 4 injectors were bad.

I checked the codes and it came up ok. I replaced the injectors, fuel filter, cleaned the maf and throttle body. took it for a test drive, still shook a little but 100 times better and 100 times more power.

So later on that day i went to go to the store, tried to start it and it made a loud noise like when a cars all ready running and you try to start it, then no noise with a key turn just the power dimming.

pulled the starter out and the nose of it was cracked off. Got a new starter, put it in and I get a click like the starter cant turn the engine over.

Any ideas on what else to look or check for. thanks

Recheck the battery connections. The OEM clamps wear out and are hard to tighten properly to get a good connection (especially the + terminal). I messed with mine for a year before having it replaced.

If everything you've described is accompanied by a heavy fuel smell then you may have a pinched injector lower o-ring and hydrolock. Doubtful since you would have mentioned it.

My Q is from Vegas also. The front seat leather took a beating in the sun in its 10 years there. Good luck.

I tried to jump start it, could see it pulling power from the other car but it didn't work. the connectors clean and tight.

i got the starter from auto zone but its the same as the one from the car it says nissan on the starter casing. i have 2 94 q45s and i had to replace the starter on the other one, its from the east coast and the starter was all rusted. replaced it with a auto zone starter and that ones been working perfect for about 6 months.

I don't smell any gas, one thing I forgot is that after I changed the injectors, for the first couple of minutes of the test drive white smoke was coming out of the exhaust.

THe problem described fits the 'leaky injector/o-ring' causing hydro-locking. Hopefully nothing got bent when the starter blew when the flooded piston hit the liquid.

Remove all the spark plugs first--the wet one(s) are the potential problems. THen crank to blow out the gasoline--that will confirm which one is leaking. Good luck. This often bends connecting rods.

i took all the spark plugs out, had my wife start the car and gas came out of #2 hole. Getting a new injector put in tomorrow and hoping nothings damaged. when I pulled the injector the little plastic cap fell off is this a big poblem.
