I was checking prices for valve cover gaskets for a 94 Q45t and the Everything Infiniti parts guide said 90-94 used the liquid. Is this correct? I heard 94-96 used gaskets.

natsoundup is right. Gaskets with RTV on the moons... But I went one further, I also used small beads/dots of RTV at numerous points to keep the gasket in place for installation. I let the beads of RTV setup prior to re-installing the valve cover.

Took me about 3 hours for one side, and thats excluding breaks (being tall sucks working on the Q, gotta take back breaks)

I DID NOT RTV the half moons, and after 5000 miles I have NO LEAKAGE on the half moons. Im still skeptical on its effectiveness.

I put mine up on stands to work under the hood, even if I'm not going underneath. That saves the back.

Hey Wes...you did better than the dealer mechanics. When I had the knocksenors done I had them also do the head gasket and they screwed it up on one side. Oil was leaking everywhere and I had to take it back to be redone 10K miles later as they refused to do it until there was oil burning smell all over the manifold.

I usually put mine on ramps (dont like stands unless I have to), ubt I did feel like digging them out of all the junk when I did the plenum... I put it on a floor jack for a while.....
