I'm not sure what exactly it is that needs changing but I'm assuming the shocks. On the driver side front and rear, I jacked up the car and looked at the shocks, and I can see fluid leaking down the shock. I can also see it on my driveway from it leaking. The passenger side seems to be ok and isnt leaking. I'm assuming that is the active suspension fluid. What is it that needs to be replace, the shocks itself or what? I already know the price of shocks from the dealer isnt cheap at all...and ideas?

New units will be $1000+ each..............if 2 are leaking all 4 have been stresses. Leaks are usually from lack of system oil changes.

There are a total of 9 pressure accumulators [1 on each shock + 5 other locations] which usually lose nitrogen pressure before the leaks start.

Texasoil can help you by recharging accumulators [exchanges] that are not replaced with the shocks.

Anyway the entire system cost $8-10,000 plus to rehabilitate at dealers.

We have done a few accumulator rehabs and a few shock exchanges with customer supplied parts...........pretty common on 12 year old actives.

From your posts unsure if you knew what you were buying ------ the cost to rehabilitate and maintain and repair.........on old STANDARD Q are $2,000-$3,000 per year ONCE EVERYTHING IS AS NEW..........ACTIVES ADD $1000 prorated over 8 years.

WELCOME to the wonderful world of Nissan LUX PERFORMANCE CARS.

Do you have a Q45a? That is a whole different ball of wax. If you do, you need to speak with texasoil http://www.q45asuspension.com

Nowhere does he state that he has the "a". I looked at his profile....maybe he forgot to include that LITTLE detail.

He said this though:

"The passenger side seems to be ok and isnt leaking. I'm assuming that is the active suspension fluid".

You still haven't confirmed that it's a Q45a

If so, contact Keith Bowers. He's THE guru of Active suspensions and can save you a crapload of money restoring it.

Then your problem is considerably less expensive to fix just replace all 4 shocks and dust boots < $500.

Yup, then call Joe at 888 216 5328

He gives 25% discounts to NICO, knows the Q45 VERY well. Be sure to get the full kit - shocks, boots, bump stops, etc. Can't beat his price. You'll want the Tokico blues for improved handling, or the blacks for original ride - blacks are more expensive.
