Hello Guys,
I'm new to this site and I'm trying to keep a 94 Q45 alive. I have several things to fix on it. The most urgent is the engine. A year ago it started to "miss" at idle and the idle got very low. The tach says 250~300 rpm. As soon as you got above idle, it smoothed out. It has progressively worsened. Now it runs very rough at idle, barely accelerates (my 93 Geo Metro 3 cyl is faster!) until you get to 30 mph then starts to pick up speed. Shifts at high rpm which makes it shift hard too. It smells strongly of fuel at idle especially with the heater on (not a problem in our current 110 degree outside temp). I'm pretty sure it's fuel injectors and I bought a new set of purple tops but haven't put them in yet. I have been reading up on removing the plenum and was wondering what else I should do while I have it off? I am trying to keep the cost as low as possible on this because I need to replace all 4 strut cartridges (any ideas or help?), align the front end (pulls to the right), replace all 4 tires, fix (more likely~replace) the third brake light, replace the antenna mast, and several other small projects on this car. I work on helicopters so I'm not afraid of tools but I have no experience on Infinitis. Ant help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time.

I forgot the leaking left (drivers side) valve cover, and leaking power steering rack. Ironically, even with it running like crap it passed emissions testing yesterday which is done at 33 mph on a dyno. I couldn't believe it passed when I wasn't sure it would even make it to the testing facility! Thanks again for any help you can give me.

Welcome to NICO!

Sounds like you have all the common problems of a semi-unkempt Q.

I would suggest you use the search function on this site, as there are numerous threads covering everything you mentioned in your post. If you have any further questions or need clarification on things, we'll be happy to help.
