We have a 94 Q45 which will start, but idles rough and will not accelerate nor develop enough power to drive. Fuel pump and filter good, cleaned MAF and air filter, replaced pcv valve. Car also started leaking coolant from undetermined location at same time as accel/run problem started. College student son loves the car, would like to fix, but at what cost. Looking for ideas, we're going to have to tow to garage for lack of power.

First, do not tow, flat bed only.

Any intake path or maintenance history? Presume you have used OEM fuel pump and filter, O ring, tank was spotless, and fuel pressure on intial startup is at 34 psi?

Check the posts by AZHitman as there is a reference to a good independent shop in Phoenix. No known service providers knowledgeable of the VH45DE in Tuscon. It you have a trailer, http://www.jerrytucker.net would be your best bet.

Welcome to NICO.

The dealer will be happy to diagnose for $100 and give you a list of things wrong..............you have the choice of loading it up on a flatbed at that point or paying to repair there.

You obviously haven't been taking to dealer every 90 days for oil changes and spending the $2,500 per year in maintenances and repairs.

The usual culprits MAF, KS, Hoses, Fuel pump [don't trust you without a graph of on the road pressures].

Thanks for the help, we worked thru all the MAF/EGR/CPVfuel pump etc options and was ready to get a flatbed, then out of shear desperation dumped a bottle of STP extra-strength injector cleaner in the gas tank. it coughed and spit a bit, but after 5-10 minutes it accelerated and finally moved under it's own power and is nearly normal. Now for the coolant leak which seems to be under the plenum someplace.

Thanks againRon

I had the rough driving issue some time ago, but Chevron fuel injection cleaner worked miracles too. But its not helping my current stalling issue...

i am having the same issue with poor accelaration and rough idle, i cleaned and tightent the MAF connector and it improved a lil bit in the accelaration part but still got that rough idle, i also was leaking coolant..and got it fixed , it was the heater hose that runs to the block.
