just purchased this 94 and seems to be all around a pretty good shape 'cept for the oil on pan and maybe front seal. currently has 126000 miles. Also power steering unit itself and resorvoir return and supply hose show some oil as well. pretty wet from oil underneath but does not drip much. Curious with all the 94 Q owners here if any have had the same problem and is it likely the front main seal behind the pulley?

Common problem I have seen these cause the belts to jump offf the pulley system and damage some expensive parts. I have the 94 Power Steering pumps and Hoses all for $160.00 shipped in good low mile condition. My PAYPAL is [email protected] E-mail me!

120,000 miles is usually the start of the major rehabilitation period when hoses and seals and things start to need total replacement.

Where the shocks replaced at 60k, time again, same with upper links, tension rods, etc.

Watch out for alternator, ac compressor, knock sensors, plenum hoses, valve cover gaskets, etc.

Do proactive things to extend the life of transmission as that will cost $3-$4,000 to replace.

Do Anything and everything possible to reduce or defer the $6-$8,000 you will be spending over the next few years.

The above assume dealer pricing which is 50/50 parts and labor........obviously if you can do things yourself and buy parts at 25% new-75% used discount..........it gets down right cheap..................if you price your labor low.

If it doesn't have the under engine tray, you should consider getting another.

Welcome to NICO.

Thank you all for the input and the welcome. this is quite a site. i have probably logged a good 10 hours and know I have only scratched the surface. It is a little daunting thinking of what all I need to address. i am an old mechanic from the 60's and 70's doing corvairs, volvos and toyotas for fun and no where near the tech that many of you seem to be.

thanks againcheers,dk

You'll do fine with the FSM and TSB for reference.

There is an attached text file in Infiniti General of early Q45tech posts that will cut through some of the flotsam that's accumulated here the last few years.

I have a little difficulty with the site which is maybe my ISP or the connection. I am amazed at the amount of input and data every time I am on this site.thanks.
