I have a 1994 Infiniti Q45, i recently changed the front brake pads & the rotors are old, i'll admit that. However, the front passenger side rotor was tight even with the brake pads and caliper off, the driver side rotor was loose, i was able to wiggle it....now i'm getting a loud squeak and rattle every so often when i apply the brakes...and i know it's coming from that loose rotor...i'm curious as to what you think it may be....do i need a new wheel bearing? Rotors? Thanks.

Impossible for rotor to be loose if wheel is on and lugnuts properly torqued.Could be rotor need resurfacing, failed pad shims and hardware,or other issues. Best to take car to a professional if you do not thoroughly understand the workings of the braking system,as properly operating brakes are mandatory for your safety,as well as everyone else on the road.

no, the wheel is off.....when i can move the rotor, that would be quite the task to do it with the wheel, and brake caliper on....

The rotor should be loose when the wheel is off otherwise you would be able to replace the rotor. The wheel is what presses the rotor firmly against the hub, so I think what has happened is the rotor has rusted to the studs and hub. When you think about it the passenger side of the car gets more water because of puddles on the side of the road, so that could be why the rotor is stuck.

What you could do to get it loose is to bang on the "hat" of the rotor, from the front and sides; the hat is where the studs go through the rotor.

The squal could be not bedding the pads correctly or not using the noise insulating shims.

The rotor that isn't coming off is the problem, not the one that you're able to remove. OEM rotors have a pair of threaded holes 180 degrees apart for jacking out stuck rotors. Put a 12mm (or is it 14mm) bolt in each hole and alternate tightening each a couple of turns at a time to break the rotor loose.

Thank you, i'll check both, and replace both rotors, and update everyone on the progress....thanks for your input.
