1994 Q45 base model(non-tcs/non-active suspension)

No special modifications, all OEM Infiniti equipment. No accidents.(Evident or with insurance/dmv records)

I've been tracing an electrical gremlin for the last couple of days on my emerald Q45.

Initially the instrument cluster and most of the other dash lights, (excluding the idiot lights in the cluster itself and the radio), were out.

Swapped clusters, no effect.

Swapped illumination switch and instantly got cluster lights back.

But when I turn the headlamp combo switch all the way on, cluster lights died.

At this point the high beam indicator lamp came on.

Replaced the 10 amp fuse in the engine compartment. It blew as soon as I turned the headlamp combo switch all the way on.

So then I replaced the headlamp module next to the fuse box in the engine bay with a new one.(I assumed that the unit may be bad)

Replaced the 10 amp fuse in the box and turned the headlight combo switch on.

Blew again.

I'm looking for suggestions before I go and pull the harness completely out to go wire-by-wire in search of this little bastard.

Rude, snide, or inappropriate comments are okay,(by me at least), as long as you include something technical within your post.

That 10 AMP fuse is linked to the headlamp relay, maybe some more stuff but mainly that one. It also says that the wire is "G/R", I would try getting a new or confirmed good used one.

I have one, make me an offer if you want.

It's also the same fuse that blows if there's a short in any of the micro lamps and IIRC is also part of the brake lamp circuit. Just for kicks check the brake lamps and sockets for shorting.
