I've noticed my headlights would take turns but mostly it's been the right one where it'll come when turned on then after a while I'll get the "headligh inoperabale" message. I've the wiring, the bulb and the fuse and can't seem to know what else to look for.

The other day both headlights were off and had to drive with highbeams on.

I've heard of a headlight relay. Is this where my problem might rely?Where is it located??

Thanks

There's a headlamp relay about 6" long tucked in behind the engine compartment fuse box and next to the radiator overflow bottle.

Thanks for the quick reply. How does it look? Does it have an indication? Or is there only one relay there? Any pics by any chance??

It's the only one there. You'll have to unbolt the fuse block and move it out of the way to access the relay. This relay has caused the exact same symptoms on the J30. Some of those guys have opened it up and re-soldered the connections.

Just as with rear bulbs, failure to replace when they get old and out of specification [or worse using non oem bulbs] causes the eventual death of the sensing and control components.
