So I want to clean my evaporator and replace the darlington resistor, hopefully this will fix my fan only blowing on full speed. I know this stuff is behind my glove box, but how do you get it out? I can't find detailed inx anywhere.

Thanks guys,

I searched before I posted, I swear.

theyre all the same... It applies..... sorta

Remove the lower plastic thing below the glove box.. Once you remove that, there are 4 screws (2 on each side) that you remove, plus the 2 up top. Use a 10mm wrench...... After that, take out the darlington resistor and then clean away!------------------------------------------------------------------------[/quote]The plastic thing just sorta pulls off and that worked fine.

I removed the four screws on the bottom. Now where are the two on top?

BTW, I think Q45.org is having some problems and some stuff is missing.

Thanks

I couldn't find a pic but there are two plastic caps that pop out and each has a screw under it. They are on either side of the glovebox opening, near the top. Use a narrow flathead screwdriver to remove the caps. Good luck.

Thanks Mike! (Nice Ride BTW - Really Nice.)

I've got everthing fixed. It's so nice to have a variable speed fan. Quick and easy fix for only $20. I got the part from a NICO brother. My evaporator was pervectly clean. It had a couple peices of straw, but nothing major.

Thanks guys!

I think this is the answer to my problem! zerothread?id=193399I have vacuumed off the condensor coils before but don't remember anything as far as a resistor. Can you take a pic of the resistor so I know what I am looking at? Is "darlington" a type of resistor or is that what Nissan calls it specifically? I will call IOS and would like to know what to ask for to maximize their time. Thanks!
