94 Q45 engine code scan -01

Does anyone have info on engine code scans?The car is running a little rough and the engine service light is on.

thats not a legit code... Whatd he scan it with?

Your right...I had my son go to a different shop and the codes came back as 34 and 51.

AND I found the code explanation. Knock sensor and injector analysis.

Id go and test the injectors individually... That code is kind of a goofy code and I dont always buy it.

After reading a lot of posts, I devised a checklist of things to do that would lead to the problem.

The first one did the trick!! I asked my son if he had filled up with the lowest octane gas at any time in the last month. YES he had.Tank was near empty so we filled it with high octane and Lucas upper cylinder additive and withing 30 miles the engine is running like a top and no engine service light!

Dang...the right gas octane really is important. I scolded my son the poor college student, who lives in California (I live in Austin TX).
