Hi guys,

So my 94 Q45 has not been starting and after many self tests done based on my experience and eduction from here at NICO, I finally took it to a friend mechanic.
According to him it needs a new and/or a used ECU.
He quoted me around $700 or $800.

Now if I'm going to spend that kind of money I rather buy a NICO ECU.
Does anyone know who to contact and if any available out there?
I know Wes is the guy but don't know how to get a hold of him.

I need an ECU like RIGHT NOW.... thanks
My cell is 818-429-5810 and I reside in Burbank, CA :wavey:

If it's important to get the Q running tomorrow an ECU from any 90-96 Q45 will get you back on the road until you can get the NICO ECU. I would think most any salvage yard in your area would have them cheap. Do you know anyone locally with a Q? it wouldn't take 30 minutes to swap in an ECU from another Q to verify your mechanic's diagnosis.

I'm curious about your mechanic's diagnosis since ECU's don't normally fail on the G50. Did the ECU codes get pulled by you. him, both? Was it reset into the proper position. Any codes? Is he basing his diagnosis on not being able to pull codes? It's easy to check yourself with the correct page from the FSM. Let us know.

Thanks for your reply.
He's basing it not able to pull any codes. Prior to taking it to him I tried to reset it but kept getting this 'ticking' sound from near and or from the ECU itself. Everytime I'd hear the 'TICK' I would see the CEL also barely blink.
If I do get an ECU from another Q would 90-96 fit? Would I need to program it?
Thanks

Plug it in and go. Any ECU from any model Q45 90-96 willl verify what the mechanic told you and get you on the road. You may have a warning light due to lack of active susp, tcs, fed ecu (EGR sensor), but you're engine will run perfectly.

Just in case, Dsagers will sell you one but it's going to take a few days to get it there.
