Hey guys, I'm trying to help an owner of a 94 Q45 out. His changer broke and it was thrown away by a local stereo shop. I did a search for adding a new changer to this car and I've read about a 10- pin adapter that is compatable with any sony 10-disc changer. The dealerships here in St. Louis don't have the part number or have any clue what I am talking about.

Does anyone have the part number for the changer adapter for Sony CD changers?

Thanks in advance.

Eric

Is the old changer available? I doubt it could not be repaired.

there are some here who are selling a CD changer (I think), but you can also look on ebay and get one from about $150 or so. It is the 10 disc Sony changer and I am sure that another Q owner will post all the details you need

Yeah, i always get so confused with the CD changers...

If its factory, all G50s got a sony 10 cd (bad).. If it was a dealer, they got a clarion 6CD (good)

If theres no external controller (ie controlled by the HU), then you can probably go with the clarion 6cd, which is much more reliable...

It had the 10 disc factory changer, I no longer have it, so now it just has the 10-pin plug in the right hand corner of the trunk. The new changer and adapter needs to work with the factory radio controls.

None of the Clarion cd changers that I've seen plug directly into the factory plug, so therefore that is why I'm looking for the part number from Infinity that allows the Sony to hook right up. Something like $90.00.

Once again thank you for all the posts.

My Sony 10 CD changers are very good. I would never throw one away unless the car had burned.

I too have a Sony 10 disc changer.

I think this place right here is the place you want to contact: Sony Service Center 37768 Hills Tech Drive Farmington Hills, MI 48331

I think I might have to get in touch with them myself. Mine does fine until I use the “random” function. When I do after 1 or 2 tracks it gives me that “CD err” thing. I then have to take the magazine out and put it back in before it’ll play again.

Personally I’d love to put a whole new system in, but the kind of gear I want to get + installation would be a lot of $$$, so I’ll probably just repair it for now.

Wish I had a few grand lying around!!!
