Hey,

I have a 94 Q45 that came with a 10 Disc CD changer. I bought the car with it not operating. My question is what can I replace it with. I was able to find the pin-out for the changer on the net, so is it possible to re-wire a new changer using the wire harness from the old changer. I also noticed the old changer has a small box on the side of it that connected the head unit to the changer. Is this needed for a new changer? Is there any changers on the market that will just plug right in(besides the OEM for almost $400).

Thanks for your help....

Any OEM cd changer from a Bose equipped Nissan/Infiniti from 95-01 will work with your vehicle.

I have one up for auction right now if you are interested:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...&rd=1

There are also auctions on E-bay for the OEM style aftermarket brand called USA Spec, model # SCD-N66 and SCD-N66E. This brand would require you to rewire their harness to the trunk as it isn't compatible with the existing harness, even though it does plug directly into the headunit.

E-bay is your best source for a good deal on a working unit without getting ripped off by the dealer.

Hello, I have a 95 Q with the Bose/Sony 10 disc changer that is inoperative. I get the "Err" code when I press cd and there is a cd stuck in the "play" areaa inside the changer. I would like to install my Sony CDX 747 changer in its place but need some type of adaptor or harness to make it work. Anyone know of a source for one?

There is no adapter for anything besides the Alpine changer. Soundgate and a few others make the adapter, but it isn't cheap. It is probably cheaper just to buy a new cd changer as the adapters are $100+ from Ultimate Electronics or Circuit City, I forget which. There is one adapter available for the Alpine on E-bay right now. Starting price is $60 that no one has bid on. I have a couple of changers if you are interested in one, or you can have your player refurbished by Sony for what people say costs about $150, though I can't say from experience.
