I'm running the stock Bose system with the 10 pack CD changer in the trunk. Yesterday I hit a bump that obviously jolted the unit and now I cannot play any CDs. The deck says "Err."

I looked inside the changer with the cartridge removed and I do see a disc in the play slot.

Anyone know how to get the disc out or what might be causing the "CD Err" message in my deck?

Thanks,mccluredude

Unplug the harness on the back of the changer, then replace. Sometimes works.

On a similar note...The changer in my 1994 Q has not worked since I bought the car. It doesn't appear to be getting any power. When I press the eject button, nothing happens. When I press the magazine down, it pops back up- doesn't catch. Anyone have any ideas? I took it apart just to see if it had a fuse or anything, to no avail. Who should I take this to? If it's a power problem, would Infiniti service (or T3) be able to fix, or should I take it to an audio place. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

McClure- when you press the eject button and no magazine is in place, does the eject mechanism still function?

Nope. When the magazine was out, the eject button didn't do anything.

Assuming you have a trunk-mounted SONY 10 CD changer, you may want to check my old post under "Online Mechanic" on CD changer problems.

My trunk mounted Sony has been out of commission for a bit....

There is a small spring that broke that loaded the CD... I have just been too lazy to take it somewhere to get fixed.

I also feared that they may charge 100 dollars to fix it....

Anybody have any other ideas..... it hasn't been much of a priority because 3/4 amps are shot... so I have to spend the money to get those fixed first...
