Hi guys.

So my uncle took his car in because the blower motor doesn't work. They put in a new motor, which they tested and know it works. So they put it in and now it doesn't work. The infinity dealer thinks it is a bad relay, but it could take 10-12 hours to check all the relays with an ohm meter. Can we just hard wire the blower motor? with a toggle switch for on and off. how do you do that?

Welcome to our club.

To learn more about the problem, try a search for "darlington" in the text body.

That dealer sounds so dumb I bet they actually do spell it Infinity.

If the dealer told you they would have to check all the relays with an ohm meter for 10 hours I would not even concider taking my car to them. They either have no idea what they are doing or they are trying to milk you for a ton of labor since you may not know any better. I suppose it's possible they just don't want to have anything to do with it and they are just quoting very high so you won't have them do it.

There are a few fuses to check, a relay or two, and the resistor. There could be a problem with the climate control module in the dash as well. If the resistor is bad that will normally just cause the blower to only operate at one speed (high) but it's still a possibility.

Let us know what's been checked and we can provide some more direction.

And to answer your question about the toggle switch, yes, of course you could but I wouldn't recommend it because that's a little cheezy, hehe I'm sure with a little t-shooting with our assitance we'll get you up and running again.

You got some great advice from Maxnix... thanks for the quick help Brian!

I'm moving this thread to IOM... hopefully we can get you some detailed help there. For your part of this process, please provide us with TONS of information. You can't possibly give us too much info... you can (and did) provide too little.

What have you tried so far? Did you read anything in the FSM yet? Checked all your fuses? Can you give us some maintenance history?

The more info the better. BTW... Welcome to NICO.
