My head unit has 2 DIN connectors. Can the unused one be used for an AUX input for MP3 or Sat?

Here is a pic of a 94 Q45 Bose/Clarion HU PN-9556Q. Shows 2 DIN inputs. The one closest to the middle (6-pin DIN) is/was for the phone. Is the other one (8-pin DIN) an AUX input?

Clarion's service manual for this is part number SMPN9556Q. Anyone have a copy of this?

Argh, wow. It seems you might be able to use something like this:http://www.discountcarstereo.c...D=610but the things cost more than a good replacement radio. Head units with AUX inputs, and even MP3 and even USB ports are getting more common and less expensive. Yes there is the appearance issue, but with little training you can adapt to keeping your eyes on the road instead of looking at the radio. As for radio manuals, I have no idea where they go to. But they sure don't seem to be on the web anyplace. It'd be enough to drive you nuts, if you hadn't arrived years ago.
