94 Q45 T. 163,000 miles, the car seems like it doesn't want to take off from a stop, you can floor the gas and it doesn't matter it just starts to move slowly, but once the tach gets close to 3000 RPM it's like you hit a nitrous switch or something.

Other times taking off from a stop it's fine, 2 minutes later same problem as first paragraph, if I shift the trans manually it seems better.

When car doesn't want to go if you put the shifter into neutral the engine will rev fine I know it's not under any load when I do this but it seems like the engine is ok.

When car doesn't want to move out of it's own way I see no signs of the transmission slipping or RPM's rising like it was slipping.

A friend said the trans fluid smelled burnt and looked dirty, going to have transmission serviced soon, could problems just be caused from transmission not being serviced? and does the transmission use a metal screen filter that can just be cleaned or does the filter have to be replaced?

Thanks

Don't know for sure if trans not being serviced is related to your take off power loss. You have too stay up on transmission service because they are famous for failure. I would get BG POWER PURGE FLUSH that way you don't have to drop the trans. pan. The flush cleans the old fluid out of Torque Converter where if you drop or drain pan the fluid doesn't drain from T.Q.

If you've never done a BG machine flush [at the usual 30k interval from brand new], good idea to pull pan and change filter after manually cleaning pan and magnet. Reassemble then use BG to clean the system.

Pay special attention to exchange times [~~3.5 minutes] and the resulting after cleaning ATF color..........it may be necessary to do a back to back machine flush based on end ATF color.

Sometimes spending $300 on pan drop filter change and BG flush can prolong even abused transmission life......the goal is to extend the $3,000 replacement day of reconing as long as possible..........but you gotta know when to stop neat the dead horse...........the exchange time tells you that!

Unless the price has changed greatly, seems Joe's price was about $1700 without core or transportation.

...$2,118.75 BEFORE core exchange. The core is worth $400.00 when I get it back. Transportation is usually no more than $175.00 to even the longest distance (within the lower 48). The net expense goes like this:

Purchase: $2,118.75Shipping: $175.00 +-Core Return: -$400.00Shipping for core return: $175.00 +- Total: $2,068.75Value of a great running G50 (with 1st gear start of course): Priceless

Did I mention that we do accept MasterCard????

No new, they are all rebuilt from Nissan. The website has pricing issues with any parts that have core value. If anyone would need a transmission they would have to call it in to us...

thanks for the clarification on the prices on your website! is the 92q transmission really more expensive than the later ones as indicated on the site? and any other parts that you accept returned cores for discount? alternator, waterpump, starter, etc?

Yeah starters, alternators, ECUs, brake calipers, & I think that's it off the top of my head. the transmission's to the '97-'99 & the '90-'96 are actually the same price with the same core values.
