I have a 94 Q with 100,000 on her. Just recently bought it and the previous owner seemed to have good regular manitance done, However...

I just had my injectors all replaced and an all new hose kit, new spark plugs, new fuel filter, 2 cans of BK44 and a throttle body clean out, and she still stumbles and hesitates under moderate acceleration. I have to really press far on the pedal causing it to shift down before I get any power. The problem is not near as bad when the car is first started, but within a few miles and the temp is up to operating range she progressively stumbles on acceleration. I am loosing faith in my mechanic with this problem.

I am tempted to return to the one Infiniti dealer we have in Sacramento to see if they can find the problem. Has anybody from the forum found a good machanic in the northern California area yet?

Thank you for any thoughts.

Mark

Knock sensor code?Your choice of the word MECHANIC concerns me, as most failures are electronic.

Using a shop without a Consult [and a technican who knows how to use it] is wasting your time and money.

I guess I should head over to the dealer.

Thank you

It must be worth $100-$200 a year [at dealer] to get a list of everything they find wrong. You can always decline to fix anything [they are use to it].

Sometimes it seems like members are AFRAID of dealers........to learn all the cars faults.............like if they don't know, it will heal itself? Kind of like men and Doctors I guess?

Have you tried different gas stations?

If the car stumbles when it reaches operation temperature, then it may relates to some OBD sensors (eg. oxygen).

Another thing you can try is to buy a can of brake cleaner and spray the MAF.

If you haven't changed the oil after the spark plugs replacement, then just replace the oil to see if it helps.

Anything and everything to avoid an accurate diagnosis.

There probably are MEDIUMS, who use crystal balls to diagnose cars somewhere in US on the WEB.

Careful about the MAF as some solvents will do more harm than good concerning the accuracy of MAF. And you or dealer would never know it, if the unit went outside it's 3% accuracy.

Whoever checks your car, make sure they clean the terminals on the Air Flow meter & CAS as a minimum. If they are too dumb to check these things, dump them!

Just because the check engine light doesn't come on, doesn't mean there ain't a problem code in the ECU.

I echo Q45Tech, get to someone who has a Consult or similar machine that will at least read the codes correctly. :)
