I don't blame you, I would never do a procedure like this through my shop either. I'm not too concerned about doing it to my personal vehicle. My plan was to just pull the fuses, unplug the TCS throttle motor, and disable the two dash lights when I get around to it.
QSIGUY, This is your old compatriot on the Ipod installation. I am guessing that you went through the entire diagnostic routine with the TCS and I am a bit surprised that you did'nt get to the bottom of it(hopefully so as to save me some of the time trying to figure it out). System is currently showing diagnostics of 16 and 46. Does this sound familiar? The original problem that inspired my question about the TCS was that at about the same time it failed, I noted on my consult that the air/fuel mixture ceased going very far into the rich zone on acceleration. Performance, which was rather flat, agreed with the consult. Interestingly, injector duration and duty cycle as well MAF and timing readings seem to be solidly responding to throttle pressure. So my original thinking was that this represented a failsafe condition. I am coming into agreement with Q45tech that one can expect almost one day a month of maintenance. It reminds me of the 70's when my family owned an XK-E. Almost every two months, after running great, I get a new situation to deal with(94' Q with 112K, second starting third round of replacing injectors, new knock sensor, new TPS, new injector harness & knock sensor harness, new fuel pump, new plugs, replaced oxygen sensors, replaced water pump, and lots more)
