94 Nissan Hardbody, loud rpm dependant whine from engine when cold outside

Truck: 1994 Nissan Hardbody Pickup, VG30 V6 motor, auto transmission, 4wd. 101,xxx miles.

Problem: When it is cold outside, the truck will produce a whining sound (audible from the cab) when at higher rpms, mainly when shifting up. Quite loud from outside of the truck. Even if the truck is warmed up for a few minutes, it will still make this sound.

Solution? I had a couple ideas of what this could be, but honestly i am stumped. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!

Probably a belt, check to make sure they are tensioned properly and make sure they do not have cracks or substantial wear on them.

Check the fan clutch.
