Hello guys,

I have a 94 Nissan Altima which worked wonderfully for years. One day while driving I experienced a lack of acceleration which turned my attention to my fuel gage. I had a full tank but yet my car would not accelerate. Sooner or later the car stalled (down hill) and I managed to park the car where from that point it would never turn on again.

I replaced my spark plus and fuel filter before I found out that the fuse was popped. I immediately replaced it and it almost started but stopped. I checked the fuse again and it was popped again.

I have no idea whats going on but with a little research I think the problem is the fuel pump. Now, with absolutely no knowledge of fixing cars, or diagnosing them anyway, I've come to you for a little help.

What are your suggestions for my little issue here?

Thanks,Ed

It's a bit of work, but try to disconnect the pump (electrically) as close to the pump as you can get. If that is too much trouble, try lifting a wire on the impact inertia cut-off switch.

Then see if the fuse blows.

I took a risk. I bought a fuel pump and installed it. The car turned on with no problems. Thanks for your input.

There was probably something wrong with the pump, i cant recall if wiring is part of the pump unit itself or seperate. If however the issue arises again, you have a simple to fix but hard to find wiring issue.
