Hey guys,
I have a 94 Maxima and I'm having a lot of stalling issues. I have replaced the MAF, the knock sensor, all fluids, radiator, alternator, and battery. I've read a lot of other posts on this topic, but none seemed to really fit.. It only stalls out while I'm running low RPMs (presumably, my tach is out), or when I'm coming to a stop. Fixing the knock sensor helped a lot of the issues, but hasn't solved it. A lot of the time it will try to stall out when accelerating after sitting at a light, or in traffic. I read that it could be a vacuum seal, but before I start fixing other things I thought I'd get some advice. This is my first Nissan so I'm not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be, but any advice would rock!

I'd check all the vacuum hoses to make sure there are no breaks or splits. It could also be the Idle Air Control Valve, and it may need to be cleaned or replaced.

See the following pages for info on the IACV (depending on which engine you have).

Like Maxhopper said, Def check the vac hoses. the 3rd gen max has a ton of them and the age of the car now, a lot of rot can happen. We had to replace just about every hose on the 93 max.

Sounds like the Idle Air Control Valve is his problem. Vacuum leaks wouldn't cause it to stall out. I would know have a few on my second Maxima and it idles with a little fluctuation on the RPM's
