94 Maxima SE (DOHC) 150k miles Manual 4 and 5 Cylinder not firing.

It started with the no 5 cylinder, then the no 4 went. I have tested the coils on both, and both test good. I listened to the injectors and they are pulsing, but neither of the cylinders fires at all. I have also tested the voltage to both the coils and the injectors. and of course all of the obvious stuff (plugs, vaccume etc.) the only thing that was wrong with the car two weeks ago was that damn VTC noise. I don't even know where to start looking for the problem.

I took a regular old led voltage tester and both of the injectors to the dead cylinders are getting weak positive signal. is my ECM failing?
