I looked in the FSM and it says to set the timing at 15 deg +/- 2 deg. So when I checked, my timing mark was at 16-17 deg. I adjusted it to exactly 15.

Anyways, this is what FSM says. What is the real world experience? Do you go to factory spec, or was mine intentionally advanced for a reason? it seems to run good both ways.

unless you have made a change to the engine...ie upgraded intake, exhaust, air filter, etc.....go with factory spec. Engine runs same with both becuase the computer will compensate for a slight difference in timing. My 93 actually ran exactly the same at 20 BTDC as 15.

I have a K &N filter in the stock airbox. I doubt that would classify as an intake upgrade?? otherwise, everything is 100% stock.
