94 Maxima GXE

94 Maxima GXE
My dad picked up a wrecked (in the back) 94 Maxima GXE, and I was wondering what engine is in one of those. I have heard that is a FWD version of the KA24DE, but I have also heard that it is a 3.0 V6. I have no idea if it is auto/manual, anything about the engine, etc. (We live a few states apart.) What can you guys tell me about one? Any information will be helpful, because I know next to nothing about Maximas.

An Altima of that age would have a KA24 engine, but not a Maxima. The Maxima of that era had a 3.0L V6, which I believe was a VG30 (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Oh, yeah, that sounds right. I think it might have actually been an Altima that he picked up, and was confused in telling me it was a Maxima. Oh well. Thanks for the speedy reply!

Yeah, the GXE would have the VG30. If it was a SE then you would have the VE30.
But if it's an Altima then the KA sounds about right
