I have a 94 J30 with 116k miles. About 4k miles ago I had to have the tension rods replaced (per the dealer). Before that last oil change I noticed that the both front tires were wearing on the inside mostly but a little extra wear on the outside of the passenger (side which I attribute my wife's driving (it's her car)). Anyway since the alignment (about 1000 miles) I am still noticing the same tire wear pattern. I do not notice any pull when I drive it. I may just be paranoid but I am concerned that there might be something seriously wrong and I would like to have an idea before I take it to the dealer since I do not have that warm fuzzy feeling with my dealer and my mechanic will not touch suspension.

Did you rotate the tires to get a fresh look at the wear?

Did the person who replaced the rod bushings do an alignment at that time?

How long were the Tension rods bad? Could have messed up the ball joint or Lower control arm bushings.

I have had alignments done at one place and notice wear and they say everything is in but I go to one of the places that give you a free alignment check and it is out (they let me watch). Cailbration on the machines is important and if you went to some local shop I doubt they calibrate. Gon on hunters web site and check for local shops with the newer equipment. This is what I did and I have no wear problems anymore

J30s have strut fronts so there is not upper control arm on the front
