Hi guys, my car recently started leaking anti-freeze, it turns out to be a freeze plug on the left side of the engine in front of the transmission. Any ideas on how much these are or ball park figure on how much it would cost to replace? I can't seem to find any forsale online. Will 300z freeze plugs fit? Thanks for any advice!

I'm not sure which part your talking about?

I'm fairly certain its a VG30DE part so it doesn't matter if it comes from a 300zx or J30. Check your local auto recycler.

Infiniti dealer says they want $1200 + to do the job because they would just replace the block. Not happening anytime soon, I put some stop leak in the radiator and it either worked or my radiator is clogged.
I did the squeeze test to check for flow. the upper hose sqeezed fine at normal idle and also squeezed fine at 3k rpms..
but still when i look in the cap, it doesnt appear to be circulating.
Anyone know of any other tests?

not according to the gauge, if it were a clock, it never goes past 3 and 4...

Then its circulating.
But I would STRONGLY suggest draining all the fluid out after the leak is sealed.
And replace with proper coolant.
That stuff will clog up stuff that's not meant to be clogged !! :gapteeth:

There has got to be a 300zx Club somewhere in Florida who can recommend a mechanic(s) with experience on the 300zx/J30 engine who could help you out for significantly lower then the Infiniti dealer cost.

BTW....also try a Nissan dealer for a quote who has a master mechanic with experience on 300zx/J30 engine. Their labour rates are cheaper than an Infiniti dealer. Some owners on this board have gone that route and saved $$$.

Thanks for the tips guys! I just took out the radiator and flushed it, right before it started raining! As soon as it stops i'll put it back together and see how she behaves. Im hoping it was only clogged and not a thermostat or worse, a water pump issue.
