I have a 94 Infiniti G20 and it is leaking coolant. The leak isn't from the radiator, and the hoses seem pretty good, so that tells me the thermostat or the water pump as first assumptions. I just have a quick question which is: On this particular vehicle, is the thermostat connected to the lower or upper radiator hose? I ask because I know it switches on a few vehicle types and this one has the sideways (facing the passenger side) motor. Any help is greatly appreciated. I searched through the previous threads but could not find this.

Thanks.

My motor it's up top, and I don't see why the earlier one you've got would be any different.

I venture to say water pump. Is the leak coming from the passenger side of the car? The thermostat will be on the upper section of the radiator hose on the driver side going into the block.

That's correct, the leak is dripping on the passenger side (the same side where the upper hose is located). The lower hose is located and connected to the engine on the driver's side of the vehicle and everything is dry around there.

Either the hose has taken a crap on you or the waterpump is shot. If you can, look up under the water pump while the car is jacked up and see if its wet around that area. You could just start the car up and let it sit and watch to see where the leak is coming from also.

Normal technicans use a pump up pressure tester to raise sytem to 14 psi and see where the coolant squirts out.
