94 hardbody

I have a 94 nissan hardbo]dy with v6. It had a saty leak so I went in the fromt and I am running into more problems as I go

This part is broke and cracked in several place and will not slide off the shaft for anything I see what seams to be a lock ring holding it to the shaft but I was also told the thing should slide off.

This is a view of the bottom of the shaft.

Any help would be greatly appreciated never worked on one of these things

I guess I am having a hard time understanding what you are trying to replace. Are you trying to replace the front crankshaft seal?

That was my intentions do I need to take the entire cover off that the seal in the picture is in
